THE BEST DECISION

It was a summer night, Kate and Kevin were running under the rain laughing about the ridiculous situation, they were coming back from their interpretation classes. Kate’s hair and dress were completely wet and her makeup was smeared, Kevin’s sweater and shoes were also soaked. When they arrived at Kate’s home she realised that it was time to say goodbye but she felt so good with Kevin that she wanted to stay more time with him. She had never had such an interesting conversation, neither with Mark, her boyfriend. She loved Mark, yes, but since many months ago, things had changed and what Kate felt for Mark was a different type of love, a love of friends, only friends.




The next day his friend Kevin called to say that he had to go to live to Paris because they offered him a very good post in one of the biggest companies of the world. Then he asked her if she wanted to go with her to Paris. Kate answered that she had to think it because it was a difficult decision. On the one hand, he wanted to be with Mark but on the other hand, the relation with Kevin was very intense.


Kate’s mind was divided in two, what could she do? Break with Mark and risk a new life, with new people, new language and a boyfriend? It was true that she liked him alot, but she knew him just for three months and in that short time she just knew the good side of Kevin, she started to think that years ago, when she just knew the good side of Mark, she felt as a princess, but that changed a bit when she knew him better even if she loved him. Kate was nervous and hysterical, it was really a difficult choice.


She stayed all day thinking about it, and finally, her heart decided that she wanted a change in her life. Risking all, she went to France with Kevin. When she told that to Mark, he got furious but at the end he understood, they were friends as she wanted. They took the plane to Paris the next week, they were in love. They accommodated in a small and cute hostel and they worked very near so they stayed all day together, she took the best decision that she could.


Kate was so excited! She was with Kevin, just what she wanted and they were the best days she had ever had. Since they arrived in Paris, all was perfect. On one of those days at night, they were on the balcony looking at the stars and taking a rest after a hard day when Kevin looked at Kate with a lovely smile. Then, they gave a kiss to each other and Kate felt she was the happiest girl in all the world.


After that special and romantic dinner, Kevin put of knees opposite to her and he said, showing his commitment ring:

- Kate, do you want to marry me?

-Yes, I want! Of course, Kevin! -she said with a surprised face.

So they married, they had two children, Mark and Kristen. And they lived many years together in the city of the love, Paris.
